Despite being a huge wuss, I'd love a tattoo as a reminder of my travels last year. I want something subtle and girly, but not too overpowering. Having fallen in love with Hawaii when I was travelling, I quite fancy a hibiscous (spelling!?) flower somewhere on my foot or inner ankle.
Anyone got any good samples or better ideas / designs they want to suggest to help me out?
I think a hibiscous is a good idea. Flowers always look good, as tatoos and dont become outdated. I have a long stemed rosebud, just below my waist, on the right side of my back.
My suggestion to u, is to be careful about the size of the tatoo. It should clearly look like a flower, when somebody is looking at it from accross a room. If it is too small, it might look like a birthmark. Also, make sure the person who does the tattoo has a good reputation. If they dont tattoo deep enough, then the tattoo will fade over time. Ask somebody who has nice tattoos, to recommend somebody, for u.
Getting them on your foot or inner ankle would be quite painful. It is usually a lot less painful to get them, on a part of your body, where there is some fat. But maybe u dont mind the once off discomfort, to get one on your foot or ankle.

A hibiscus flower is a perfect tattoo design as it is pretty girly. But Mel is right - getting it on your foot or ankle would be really painful because it's a bony area. I have a tattoo on my lower back and the artist who did my tattoo said that it's advisable to get one on fleshy parts of your body because it would be less painful that way.
You can have a tatto of a muscley airplane on your arm, or a flower flying over a magical ocean of petals, or a mushroom smoking a magical cigarret, or even the earth planet or the word map tracing the places you went to .

Thanks for the advice guys....especially the guy above me who is either a poet or on LSD!
I guess the best thing to tattoo would be your name, your birthplace and your blood category.
Then put a lovely red rose flower under it.
