Hello Nazzgosh:)

Maybe there is not a direct train going from Krakow to Budapest.
Check if u can book one from Krakow to Warsaw, and one from Warsaw to Budapest.

Don't know if it's any help or any better timewise but when I was inter-railing we went Krakow-Vienna-Budapest. Maybe there are some polish people here who can help with a website or advice on direct trains maybe? Good luck, enjoy it!

I don't think there are any direct trains, I think they all go via Bratislava and Prague and require a few changes.

When I went from Budapest to Krakow I took a Eurolines bus that went direct there.

I'm no expert at all but I doubt you will be able to book this route on-line at all. The best thing you can do is buy a ticket when you get to Krakow to Prague or Bratislava then buy one to Budapest when you get to either of these destinations. If you do manage to find a website for the tickets be careful as the tickets prices are hugely inflated especially on american sites! I cant see there being a problem with buying tickets when you get to the station, either go a day before travel or get there early before your train leaves.....

hi,

there is a direct night train from krakow to budapest. it takes about 10 h.

there are many day trains (also about 10 h) but you always must change, usually at katowice or breclav.

see http://rozklad.pkp.pl/bin/query.exe/en? for schedules in english.

no need to buy a ticket in advance on the net. and no chance i guess. buy it at the station like everybody does:).

I did the night train the other way around from Budapest to Krakow last year. We just bought the ticket the day before the train left and had no trouble getting a ticket. I don't imagine you will have any difficulty if you just buy the ticket at the station when you arrive in Krakow.

heya, check out www.bahn.co.uk, not sure if you can book but its a great site for finding times, platforms etc. i did the opposite direction, got a night train from budapest to krakow a few weeks back, had no problem getting a sleeper cart on the day of travel. only bad side is that if you do get an overnight you're going through 3 countries so be prepaired to get woken up quite a few times for passport checks.

I, very recently, went from Krakow to Budapest. I could only find a night train. There is a 45 minute flight from Krakow to Budapest on Malev.. it wasn't too expensive - and totally worth it!! So quick. Let us know what you decide.
