Hello,

Does anyone have any advise for me? My friend has cancelled on me and iv decided to go on my own. Im due to travel to eastern europe inter railing next month, understandably im quite nervous yet sooooooooo excited. Do you have any general tips for meeting people, extra safety or just any advise from previous experience.

I look forward to hearing from you

Mel x

Heya, just did a trip round eastern europe on my own, was a bit nervous at first but there were so many other people solo travelling it was great. generally just got up in the morning, sat in the common area of the hostel or the breakfast area and got chatting to people, theres usually a few people doing the same looking for someone to wander around with. plus travelling in june everywhere will be packed full of travellers. usually you have a similar thing at night too, try and stay in hostels with bars and around 7 or 8ish i found people tended to go for one in there, meet up with other people and then go off into the city.

safety wise, take a padlock with you as not all hostels have locks on the lockers. other than that everyone i met was cool, you find most people are about the same, relaxed and laid back about things.

i'd recommend visiting krakow and berlin if you're in those areas, had the best times there :)

good luck
Adam
