I am curently in australia and i will go to nz for three months (aug-set-oct) on a working holiday visa. I want to earn money but also to have a good time with fun people and parties, so i dont know if ruit picking is the best choice. Some people told me to go to Queenstown or Christchurch, what do u reckon? A place where i can find 3 months budget accomodation and work (i am working in australia in a hotel so i will have a couple of months of experiencie in hospitality, but i can clean or do any job that gives me money)... So any advices? Christchurch? Queenstown? Auckland? any other place? Any other advices for accomodation, jobs or any other kind will be welcome..
I didn't work in NZ so can't comment on that but did have a ball travelling around. I'd avoid getting stuck in Auckland, it's fairly boring, particularly when comparing to the rest of the country. Both Queenstown and Christchurch have plenty of hotels so I'd imagine you'd be ok for work. Personally I'd prefer Queenstown for atmosphere and activities
We'll fly in from Santiago de Chile and will stay in NZ for 9 days, heading for Japan.
Could you guys suggest a hotel / hostel in Auckland please?
This is on arrival in NZ so we can do with a good nights sleep I recon. Wouldn't mind paying for 3star acco.
for the first 2 nights. Thanks
Hey guys, in regards to Auckland it is a rat race I would suggest to maybe find some accom in Hamilton it's about a 1hr and something drive you can bus it also, cheaper there less crowded from there you can get to anywhere in the North Island also, the North Island has heaps of culture, nice and green too !
Hope this helps alil...
Get out of Auckland asap!!!! It's a city, not unlike a ga-zillion others! New Zealand is the most beautiful place in the world with rolling hills, jagged mountains, gorgeous beaches and stunning mirror lakes - that is what you want to see!!
