Hi Guys

Me and My Girlfriend will be in Sydney for Christmas and New Year (i know its early asking this) and we are looking to book our accommodation pretty early so that we aren't disappointed.

We are looking for as cheap as possible as we are travelling all year and are on a small budget.

Does anyone know anywhere good in sydney to stay which is good, cheap and you can book in advance?

Thanks

Pete

Hi Pete,

you are doing the right thing booking early - i booked in august for new year (2004) and things were pretty booked up by then.
i stayed at base backpackers which is in a really good location and was social without being a big party place.

Hey Bex

Thanks for the tip. I've just had a look at it on the accommodation section and it seems pretty good for a reasonable price. I like the idea of a active yet not too partyish hostel... i wanna have a good time but also the option to not have to constantly be woken by by drunken partiers if i'm not out with them

i think base would suit you then - there is a bar downstairs and you get a free drink on your first night, but its not really in your face. the hostel is really clean too.

Hey bex

I've been looking at Base Backpacker in Sydney and it looks pretty good... However i have also noticed a one called "Wake Up! Sydney". Has anyone stopped here or know if its any good. It gets a pretty good rating on this site but how trust worthy is that?

Just trying to see all the options before i book.

Hi pete,
I haven't stayed at wake up but I know its one of the most popular ones in sydney and i've heard good things about it - think it might be more of a party place than Base but i'm not sure. You could also try the yha as my friend stayed there and recommended it - you can book in advance on the website and its in a central location at the top of george st, near the central station.
