Hello Jade:)

Yes, it is true. Morocco can be a difficult place for women travelling alone, but not impossible. I have not traveled in Morocco, but I have traveled in Egypt. I think the same precautions apply, for Morocco, as Egypt for female travelers.
Wear loose long flowing clothes, that are non transparent, and that cover your legs and arms. Carry a scarf, that u can cover your hair with, if any man tries to get to familiar with u or too physically close to you. Wearing a headscarf will been seen as a symbol of respectability.
Dont let any man touch u in any way. Sit beside women always, if u can. Dont let any man hold your hand. If u want to go to a hair dresser, go to a female one.
Dont smoke cigarettes, in public, even if somebody offeres u one. This gives the wrong impression. It is OK, to smoke waterpipes, in the cafes, even though there are usually no women in there. It will amuse people to see u doing it, but it is acceptable to them.
Dont be seen drinking alcohol, by any Moroccan person.
If a man is bothering u, move towards older Moroccan women. They will look after u, if they see what is happening.
Dont allow any man, even a traveler into your room, even if u leave the door open. This will upset the hotel staff, and give them the impression that u have bad morals.

I gone alone in morocco last year, I'm female too and nothing bad happened to me. Also I was using taxi with Moroccan people, inday and in night and never I had any problem.
I think Morocco is enough safe for to travel alone
