I didn't know where to post this, so here's a thread dedicated to all those bizarre news stories you just have to share. I shall start with:

Ok, I'm just hijacking this thread a little bit. It's kind of relevant. This lists 20 of the most amazing coincidences.

This one's for you, Rich...

Officials in Apex, N.C., finally confiscated the 80 sheep that David Watts had long been keeping in his home as pets (he slept upstairs, they downstairs), with the final straw coming when some of the sheep wandered into the local cemetery and munched on fresh floral arrangements. The town had apparently tolerated Watts's eccentricity for years because of his pleasantness. Said a next-door neighbor, "(Officials) felt like he was (merely) living an alternative lifestyle." I'm threadjacking my own thread! Sort of.

I love Canadian military history and am perpetually frustrated by the lack of Canadian presence at any war museum outside our country. Canada played a huge roll in WWII and sacrificed massive numbers of soldiers for a nation relatively small in number, yet Paris' war museum gave us a one-liner to mention Canada's soldiers marching to their deaths at Vimy Ridge. Which was the test run for D-Day, of all things. D-Day succeeded in large part because so may died at Vimy. And can anyone name a war movie that mentions Canadian soldiers more than just in passing?

Anywho, Britian's Sunday Telegraph had this to say, which was awfully nice:

Salut to a Brave and Modest Nation

Vermont wants to seperate from the U.S.

Since this was mentioned in the story - it still makes for good reading:

The Conch Republic - "We Seceded Where Others Failed"

I still want one of the passports - preferrably a Diplomatic one - anybody have a spare $2500USD available for donation to my worthy cause??
