Sim? Skype?

Travel Forums Europe Sim? Skype?

I am going to be in Europe for about 5 weeks during the summer. I am looking for the most convenient and cheapest way to communicate with my family and in particular girlfriend in the states. I am looking to buy an international sim card. Looking online the best deal i have found is Go-sim.com. does anyone have any experience with this company? Would it be better to purchase a card for an unlocked phone in the UK when i arrive?

Does anyone have any experience with a Skype phone? Are there enough wifi hot spots to make it worth while to buy/bring a Skype wireless phone?

Thanks!!

You don't mention which countries, so I guess you are waiting for the entire EU to answer you... :-)

If you stay in our bed & breakfast in Berlin you can use Skype, which works pretty well. ;-)

Otherwise why don't you ask about this in Skype's own forums, where you are likely to find more Skype users.

A more general answer would be to buy and use international calling cards here; that is what most people use when traveling, I believe.
