I am going to get my visa tomorrow from the consulate in Manchester and I was just looking at the form and it asks for the name of the person inviting you in or your contact in China. Well I dont have any contacts in China. :( Will my planned itinerary do? Would I also need to show them my tickets as I am yet to book...

Thanks in advance people;)

You haven't said as to which type of Visa you are applying for.

However, if you apply for a toursit visa, then you have to furnish the name of the hotel in China and its address, phone number etc.
Incase of Tourist Visa, you needto show the return confirmed airticket.

If you are going on a business visit, then invitation letter from theChinese company.
Incase of business visa, there is no need to show airticket.

Sorry, I was going on a tourist visa...

hmmm, problems then as I have booked neither. :( But I am going to be moving from city to city, would I need to give them the address of all the accomodation? or only the first one?

Probably too late now, but:

When I got my China visa recently I put down the name of the first hotel I was staying at, plus attached an itinerary (which we didn't stick to). Didn't have any probs.

I agree - we just put down our hotel name - stuck a copy of the itinerary & our flights along with the visa application form and there was no hassle whatsoever!

Thanks a lot people for the advice... :)

Well I submitted my visa application today and I asked the lady at the desk whether it made a difference and she said ITS OK. I just hope you understood what I Asked her... Well I find out next week anyway, so hopefully it'll go well... I HOPE...

In the meantime I am thinking of jsut booking some hostels for some of the places I will be staying at and book my flight out of the country so when I go back if they ask me questions I can just show them my details... that should hopefully help... I HOPE...

Cheers...;)

Just to let you people know I got my passport back today WITH the Chinese visa on it. They were fantastic at the consulate, so efficient, unlike some consulates!!!

They also issued me with a 4 month visa as opposed to a 3 month visa, which is great...

Cant wait to go.,...
