Hi Sandy,

Here's a thread that may help out. If you need any more info, just ask away!

Thanks, that thread was very helpful. Specifically, though, i'm also looking for really unique experiences in Montreal. Great music places, night shows of any kind, comedy, and other great experiences. Ie, someone told me that there is are great bagel places etc.

Anything kind of like this stuff.

Thanks!

Fairmont bagel

Montreal Music Scene

Great experiences will depend on what you'd like to do. The amusement park usually opens the long weekend, and you can walk around Old Montreal and find shops, restaurant, cafés, the science museum (the human-body exhibit is startin gsoon - the one with real bodies). There's also Little Italy, Schwartz's for smoked meat, Montreal Pool Hall for hot dogs, La Belle Province or Lafleur's for poutine, Café des Éclusiers for their once-a-week mega happy hour, a tour along bits of the bike path, the Botanical Gardens, Parc Jean Drapeau, you name it. Pick a street and walk it - you'll fnd lots of interesting places to see.

Thanks for the suggestions..is there anything else fun to do in Montreal? I've been there a few times and feel like i'm missing out on some great places. hmm..maybe a better question is what is your favourite thing to do in Montreal? (as i assume you don't hang out at the port everyday etc).

Little Italy and the Old Port are my favourite places to eat out, actually. Food shopping at Jean Talon market and Milano's is also a great way to spend a Saturday. We also spend a lot of time at the Ikea in St. Laurent and Galeries d'Anjou in Anjou. H&M is my first stop. We also go for the occassional 5 à 7 at Les Trois Brasseurs or le St. Hub cause it's right near work. My favourite things to do are try new restaurants and DragonBoat along the Lachine Canal. And I work every day about three streets away from the Old Port! ;)

If you're into shopping you have to go to Rue St. Catherines (try out an original Steerburger and Suzie Q fries at Mr. Steer). It is also nice to take a calesche ride (I don't know if I spelled it correctly, but it is a chariot pulled by a horse) in Old Montreal. Have a fun weekend. I think I'm actually going there in two weeks.:)
