davestag has indicated that this thread is about Australia

Me and a friend applied for WHV on Wednesday - he had an email more or less straight away to say he has been accepted, I have heard nothing and the online checking system simply says "Visa being processed"

Both applications had more or less the same detials - as I filled the form in for him!

Should I be worried - or am I being paranoid! I am off to Thai on Tuesday so would like to have it sorted by then.

And yes, I know I have left it late!!!! :)

Thanks

Dave

Just send them an email. Last time I heard back from them within 24 hours, so their support is pretty good. The only reasons really for delay that can be problematic are if you've been in the army and served in certain countries or have a criminal record. These usually require follow up documentation, tests etc.

I think you are just being a little paranoid. I'm no expert by any means on this topic, but I do know that when it comes to Australian government things that involve entering the country it can be a bit frustrating. Like for me to get my passport replaced after it was stolen, I needed to get people to send my original birth certificate to me whilst I was overseas and I had to send a page of the application home to get someone to sign it to say I am who I say I am. Even after all that and receiving the documents back they then needed to make contact with the person who verified me which was difficult seeing he is a teacher and is at work all business hours! So they are a real pain in the arse when it comes to allowing anyone in to the country, even people who were born and lived here all their life. Give it a couple more days and then maybe contact them if you haven't heard more back.

They probably do extra manual checks on a random sampling of entries. I really wouldn't start worrying about it until a week or two has passed.

im in no rush as im not leaving till the end of the year, but i got a quote from the company i got my RTW from and they suggested about £120 . . . i thought this was rather exspensive, or am i wrong??

They're $185 which works out at £77.70 ;)

Application and information can be found here on the immigration website and as Neily mentioned they are 185 Australian dollars - the company is charging you extra for filling in that online form for you :)

Mine came in about 10 mins after i applied, my ex partners took quite sometime, and we did worry that she might not get it, but using the sites visa grant application status, (a good few weeks later) it showed that her application had been approved, but it did not get sent to her e-mail account.

Best of luck Chris
