I will travelling through Spain for at about 2 weeks or so in July 07. My planned itinerary is San Sabestian, Pamplona, Valencia and Barcelona. Can anyone give me some feedback on what my options are to getting from one city to another ? What are my best options..given the time I have. I dont mind a 4 or 5 hour bus ride, or is train or flying better?
I will be entering Spain via San Sebastian and departing from Barcelona.
From Valencia to Barcelona you can book a flight with clickair for about 35 or 40 euros, which is approximately what a train would cost you.
From san sebastian to pamplona de the best way is the bus, i dont remember the exact price but its quite cheap and u just need one hour.
So you are going to san fermines? XD
Yeah, I'll be going to the San Fermin! Just haven't decided if I'll be running or not yet !?!
In general you can get around Spain with bus in a relaxed way. From San Sebastian to Pamplona it would be the best way. To and from Valencia you may want to consider the train, or flying (V-B) as someone else suggested. If you have a youth card (<26), you can get a nice discount on trains (about 20% if I remember correctly). Anyway, enjoy your stay, the places you will visit are very beautyful, and I'm sure you will have fun!
A bus between San Sebastian and Pamplona it would cost between 6 and 7 euro (www.movelia.es) and it would take you about one hour.
Pamplona Valencia would be more expensivve and longer but still really cheap compared to the UK: About 21 Euro and 7 hours.
The trip betweend Valencia and Barcelona it would cost 23 Euro and takes about 5 hours.
At that site you can compare the prices and timetables of different companies (and do it in English).
Good luck and enjoy your trip!!
Hey lodewijk77, thanx for your feedback..much appreciated.
Hey Elsebas, are you sure that the transit time by train from San Seb to Val is only 7 hours. I could have sworn that I saw something on the net saying that from Madrid to Val was 8 hours, but Madrid is closer ?
Oops sorry..I meant Pamplona to Valencia!
