Hello fellow travellers! Can you believe it that Euro summer 2007 is almost upon us !?! I have got a jam packed trip thru Europe this year, which will take me to Athens and the Greek Islands around the end of July. Can someone please tell me how long I will need to check out, get a feel for, as well as party and sightsee on 2, 3 or maybe 4 Islands? Despite the obvious mainstream attraction of Mykonos and Santorini, they will definately have to be included. Can I get by with about 7-9 days, or do I need a full 2 weeks?
you probably could get by on 9 days (if you chose 2-3 islands probably not 4 islands though) but 2 weeks would be better if you want any major relaxation. I was at Santorini for 3 days and I think I saw pretty much everything worth seeing. If you want any relaxation definitely 2 weeks, because for my time in Santorini I hardly did any relaxation in that time.
Have a great time!
I agree 9 nine days should be fine. From Santorini and Mykonos you can see some of the islands on a day trip. For instance, Delos can be seen on a day trip from Mykonos, possible even Naxos or Paros. There is no need to pack up all your belongings and hop islands every couple of days. That wouldn't be worth it. I would suggest to stick to Santorini and Mykonos about 4 days each and then take a couple day trips from each island. Or do Mykonos & Santorini and then pick one of Paros, Naxos or Ios and stick to each for about three days and spend most of your time on the island. Really depends if you are more into sightseeing or partying. Ios is the more party place of the three: Ios, Naxos and Paros.
2-3 days on each island would be fine!Ios, Milos, Santorini are my favourite.
But keep in mind that although there are "islands" they have no real difference. So don't bother wandering around to see "more" cause you'll be seeing more of the same:P Choose 2 (max 3) islands and enjoy your relaxing holidays
PS : be sure to drink Ouzo :P
Hey Guys, Thanks a million! Your feedback is much appreciated...and dont worry, will be drinking heaps of Ouzo, smashing loads of plates and chasing heaps of skirts !!! Salute !
