Keter has indicated that this thread is about Singapore

Is it possible to go to some near islands from Singapore.
Is there anythning intertesting to see?

I just want to secure my stay in Singapore as only transit is visa free for Russians - so I have to go to a third country in order not to fall into immigration law violation which will in case of Singapore mean no further entry available.

Any suggestions other than flights if I come from Malaysian side?

Hi Keter,

It is possible to travel from Singapore to a few Indonesian islands. I have been to Batam a few times when I was there for a few rounds of golf.

You need to go to Tanah Merah port, where there are frequent ferries to either Batam or Bintam. When you arrive in to Singapore you must get a taxi there or the MRT to Tanah Merah (Station number E9). A return ticket will cost you around $30 SGD.

I believe you can also get there by ferry from the World Trade Centre, but I am not 100% sure.

I hope this helps.

One Love...

You may want to visit the islands of Batam and Bintan, which are the nearest to Singapore....

Nothing much to do there except relax by the beach, golf and exploring the neighbourhood and the seafood! 8)

The earlier posting by AdrianF is spot on - You need to go to Tanah Merah port, where there are frequent ferries to either Batam or Bintam. When you arrive in to Singapore you must get a taxi there or the MRT to Tanah Merah (Station number E9). A return ticket will cost you around $30 SGD.

Have a good break!

Thanks to all of you.

I have finally decided to change my route a bit and fly to SIN from BKK so that I would be able to transit to Malaysia.
