I arrive on Koh Phangan the day of the Full Moon Party on June 1st and have to leave the next day. All the online booking sites are either full or have a 4-5 night minimum.
Is there anyway that I would be able to find accomodations that afternoon for just the one night? People have been saying that places fill up really quickly.
What if I called a resort directly and offered to pay extra to reserve the room for the one night?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I am not sure if is worth calling the resorts and offering to pay extra. They already charge people extra, during full moon parties.
U could try the following place. Maybe they have some bungalows available, and u can book online. They are not located near the full moon party, but they provide transport to it, for 200Bahts.
When u arrive on Koh PhaNgan they will pick u up at the pier.
But do u really need someplace to stay, if u are only going to stay for one night, for the party? Wont u be at the party all night?
I agree with Mel and think it's probably not really worth to try and find accomodation just for the night of the Full Moon Party. It'll be a tough one but you will save money and the hassle to look for a place. I remember though when I was on Ko Phangan it was still possible to find something on the day. Many people will offer you a bungalow right at the pier, so you could always go for that option. As Mel mentioned it is likelier that you find something a bit further away from Haad Rin (that's where the Full Moon beach is), but you could always take a taxi to and from the party. Additionally I can totally recommend Stonewall bungalows (just google them for the address) in Haad Rin. They still had availability on the day of the party.

We figured we would need a place to keep all our stuff and rest up before the party. I think we are going to go there and wing it. Hopefully there will still be some availabilty.
Thanks for the help and if anyone has any further recommendations about it tell me!
Hello Again DMAH
If u are going to wing it, u might as well try for one of the places, that are not advertised on the internet. They are cheaper, but still comfortable enough. ie they have a bathroom inside, a fan, a double bed and a balcony. I will tell u the one I stayed in. I am sure there are lots more, that others can provide information about.
It is on Ao Cholok Lam beach. Turn right, when u walk onto the beach, from the village. Walk around 150 KM, until u get to Sarisas place. I stayed in the place, to the right of Sarisas place. The beach huts were 200 to 300 bahts per night. U could also try staying at Sarisas place. The beach huts are around 200 Bahts per night, but the place is popular, so almost always full.
