Hi guys. Need some advice on whether to head East or West bound on my 12 month rtw trip. THis would be my itinerary on each... Any views?

I think the westbound would be the better way. You'd be in Darwin/Cairns section when the weather is at its best, the weather on the East Coast and south of Australia will not be too bad. New Zealand will be nice and warm (New Zealand style) at the time you'd be going. You'd be reaching Patagonia when the weather should be pretty good. So it would have reasonable weather everywhere.

On the otherhand if you chose the other way, the weather in Darwin/Cairns will most likely be raining almost all the time and still very hot. Weather in New Zealand will be getting rather cold, Weather in Patagonia will be unbearably cold and overall you'd be rugging up a lot except when you were in Australia where the weather would be hot basically every day and Fiji.

Yup, Westbound is definelty best for all reasons aharrold mentions.
