Hi I've got my working holiday visa and will be arriving in Sydney next March and am interested in driving work, as I quite enjoy driving and I figure its quite a good way to see a bit of Australia whilst I work, I was just wondering whether I would need to pass an Australian driving test, or would my UK licence be okay to get driving work?
I'm 99.9% sure you're gona need an Australian driving license for driving work.... their company insurance will probably require it....

Yep, you need to get an aussie license, what kind of driving license do you have?
Cheers for the info, I've got a full UK licence for cars and vans.
I cna tell you that an Australian wishing to drive in the US must get an international license. In Australia I would assume it is either that or you must have or get an Australian license because you will need to know the different road rules and they can vary from State to State. Check with the Australian Embassy.
I can get an international driving permit quite easily and I think as a UK driver you're generally ok to drive in quite a few places (hiring a car etc.) but I think its different to drive for a job, I've seen all kinds or driving classes MR etc. not sure what they mean but don't think its good news
Sydney traffic is shocking, and any long haul gigs provide unrealistic deadlines hence a lot of stressed out (drugged out) truckies.
