Hey there guys,
Ive posted some details of what i want to do already but i want to travel SE Asia. Id just like to know what kind of expense i need to aquire before i can go.
Id like to go to the following countries in the following order but am unsure how much i will need for it. I would want the journey to last at least six months and would want to do it as cheap as humanly possible (ie as few flights as possible) but would like to ask you experts.
Travelling London (depart) -> Laos -> Cambodia -> Thailand -> Malaysia -> Indonesia (including papua) -> Phillipines -> London (home)
I want to spend most of my time on the southern islands of Thailand, the tip of malaysia and the phillipines.
I know this is ambitious and expensive and if anyone has ANY suggestions, ideas, itinerarys or abuse please do reply.
Sounds like a good trip. Most of the places you mention will be between 10-15 pounds a day if you are on a low budget. Malaysia might be slightly more, but Loas and Cambodia may be slightly less.
Going overland is no problem except for the Philippines obviously. Though I know nothing of getting to the eastern Islands of Indonesia.
The easist place to fly into will probably be Bangkok and then you can go north and South from there.
Hey. I have no experience of this as yet but when in Laos and Cambodia my sister got by easily on a budget of under £200 a month (that is living in not particularly plush hostels for most of the time). Singapore and Malaysia are more costly and so is southern Thailand in many places. I suppose that it depends on what activities you are going to do and how well you will eat and how nice your accommodation is. xox
