Hello,
I am trying to practice with the different features of the travel blog before my trip but the photos are giving me a hard time. I am a very inexperienced photographer so the most basic things are a challenge. I have a new camera, Olympus Stylus 760. I love it but when I download the pictures to my computer they are huge files. I know I have to resize them but have not been able to figure out how to do it. Is the resizing done from the camera or in the computer when the photo's are downloaded?
Thanks

On the computer. Generally speaking you want to keep the large size files available (burn them to CD, ship it home) for printing, and then resize a copy of those files so you can swiftly upload it to the site. You need a program like photoshop elements or paint shop pro to do the resizing. If you have no such program available, there's freeware tools like xnview or picasa which also can do this.
(Sorry for not replying to your PM yet. I hope this will do?)

i have that camera as well - i think you can do it from the camera, too. there's an option in the menu...i left it at the default size it came as, i think it was the largest. you'd have to manually click it down to another number.

If you use the picasa 2 from google you will have no problem with
uploading your photos here at TP.
Picasa 2 is a very easy program, perfekt for beginners, has everything you need, and it is free.
