I'm looking into visiting Libya and have read that all tourists need to have a guide - does anyone know how this works? Does this have to be arranged in advance in order to get the visa or can it be arranged on arrival, and what kind of costs would I be looking at for a guide?
I'm researching this at the moment, and will post any useful info I find.
Have you had any luck yourself?
Latest information I have is that you need to be on a tour, so accompanied by a guide. So you can either arrange a tour in your home country, including visa, or contact a tour operator in Libya (preferably Tripoli) who will arrange visa and a tour itinerary for you.
Here is an example of such a tour operator, another one is Robban Tourisme Services.
