I found a company that operates bus trips from london to sydney(with flight from east timor to darwin) it sounds great a lot of off the beaten track kind of thing. It goes to 20 countries in 12 weeks...im thinking that is really rushing things when the amount of land to cover is taken into consideration?? Has anyone done something like this?..the route is ENGLAND - FRANCE - GERMANY - CZECH REPUBLIC - AUSTRIA -HUNGARY - ROMANIA - BULGARIA - TURKEY - IRAN - PAKISTAN -
INDIA - NEPAL - CHINA - LAOS - THAILAND - MALAYSIA - INDONESIA -EAST TIMOR - AUSTRALIA
It sounds fantastic; I don't think it would be rushed as i think the organisers would have taken this into account when planning it. i know of a friend of a friend who is doing this trip at the moment (think its the oz bus but i'm not sure) ;she is now in Iran and is loving it so far.

Sounds really interesting, but I hope they help arrange your visas as well! Iran is meant to be about the 2nd most nightmarish country in the world to get a visa for (1st is easily Saudi Arabia). You are meant to apply for the visa to Iran a minimum of 6 weeks prior to departure so if you are on the go all the time it's not like you are going to have time to stop and wait 4-6 weeks for your visa to be granted. China wasn't too painful but when I got it, the visa needed to be used within 30 days of issue (maybe that has changed)
