hiya,

i just moved to london on monday, and am looking for long-term accomodation in the south. what's a good, cheap, and safe area to live in? i'm considering kennington, it doesn't look dodgy to me, but just wanted to be doubly sure.

all tips welcomed!

thanks.

xx

Have a look at Balham.

I've been there and it was quite good, now I hear it's slowly being gentrified.

You may be best looking just outside of London Essex and kent for example.. there are some nicer areas with direct and quick easy travel links straight into London and it is a lot lot cheaper than staying in london itself !

bubbles is right, unless u can aford to splash out and pay the high rent rates in London, essex or kent is the best option, rather essex though,

yeah but it depends where you are working in London too. I live in essex and it costs me £9 a day to get to and from the city and its only a 20 minute journey. My friend from new zealand is staying in North London which is ok. You got easy access on the underground if your in London rather than just outside and its cheaper. Then again if your rich yeah outside is good :)
