Hi guys..

In your opinions where would u say the best beaches are in Thailand? Talking nice sea and sand, not best for pubs/restaurants etc!

:)

Claire

There are so many fab beaches in Thailand.

Three of my most favourite are:

- Koh Chang (4-5 hrs from Bangkok with bus/boat). Ace for chilling out on the beach during the day and at night

- Nai Harn at the bottom of Phuket. Amazingly 'untouched' by tourism

- East Railay (bus/boat from Bangkok). Beautiful scenery with a touch of wonderful rock climbing to see.

Enjoy

Pamela :)

Claire,
Railay Beach is close to perfect. I have photos of it in my gallery. Take a look at Koh Jum & Koh Lanta as well.

The Phi Phi islands have amazing beaches. only Phi Phi Don has anyone living on it so stay on there and visit all the other islands. Its where they filmed the Beach so if you have seen that film you will have seen Maya Bay on Phi Phi Ley. Phi Phi Don was also voted in the top 5 mosy beautiful islands in the world (I dont know who did the voting though).

It depends what sort of beach you want, Phuket has some nice beaches but the island is very touristy, Koh lanta is quite nice, for deserted beach we like Bang saphan and Baan Krut and the lovely small island of Koh Talu, but that is natural so no nightlife, discos, malls or anything, just nice beachside resorts and local Thai life, that suits us fine.;)

I loved Koh Samui. Fantastic beaches, warm blue water, palm trees. Heaven. (Although I only went to two beaches in Thailand!)

If you have transport, try some of the mainland beaches around Thailand. the islands are getting played out at a ridiculous rate but the Thai coast has vast stretches of relatively undeveloped and unpopulated beaches....especially on week-days

What about Koh Tao? (www.kohtaoonline.com)
Just because this is a "diver's place", all th e beaches will be your own - all divers go dive for all day :)
I can recommend Tah Too Lagoon on south (Chalock) beach.
See photo in my gallery.
