Travel Forums General Talk HELP!!! - which is more expensive?

Hi, me and my girlfriend are planning a 2 week holiday at end of September, i think we will each have around £1500 to spend on eveything, flight, accommodation and spending money. which do you think will be more expensive - paying for a cheap flight to somewhere in europe, maybe eastern europe (slovenia etc) or paying a bit more to somewhere where everyday costs are cheaper such as south america?

PLEASE HELP!!! we're struggling with this one as i don't know how much things cost in these places!

Thanks

:)

Is it 1500 pounds together or for one person? For one person you won't face any problems at all.
For two persons it's still possible of course, but airtickets to South America or South East Asia are relatively expensive.
Why not try to get something in between, for example flying to Istanbul and then travel overland to countries like Georgia or Syria, where live is very cheap.
I went to Syria for almost 3 weeks and including the airticket to Istanbul and taking a bus to Aleppo (syria) it didn't cost me more than about 400 pounds.
And I didn't even try to get the cheapest accomodation or food.
Good double room for 6 pounds, eating and a drink a pound or so, 4 hour train ride, 50 cents.
That way you can go somewhere really different than Europe, with good and cheap airtickets and not to far away as you only have two weeks.
Probably Morocco would be an opportunity as well, I heard low budget airlines like Ryanair and Easyjet now fly from the UK to Marrakesh for lees than 100 pounds probably.
