My girlfriend and I are travelling to Cuzco for a week - can anyone recommend a good hostel?
Any help appreciated.

I agree with Loki. I was there in August and had a great time. Beautiful views of the city. The food is great, there will be a sign up board for dinner. Fun bar, clean rooms. About a 10 min. walk to Plaza de Arms or a 3 sole taxi ride.

Hostal Marani in San Blas is a great place. Large rooms all have private baths. Very attentive staff. Better security than most similar- priced places I have stayed in Cusco. The front door is always locked

I would definately recommend Samay Wasi hostel. It is up in the San Blas part of Cusco with a gorgeous view over the city. Google them. There is a location in lima and Cusco w/ 10% discount if you use both. Free internet, and basic breakfast. Clean and the staff are very friendly.

I would second the Sami Wasay hostel, they even pick you up from the bus station/airport for free also in Lima and Cusco. Such friendly staff and free tea and coffee all day (including coca leaf tea).

Loki is good crack, I´m staying there now and loving it - very chilled out atmosphere and the communal areas are good. Free tea/coffee during the day and free internet as well. And yes, the beds are amazing, haven´t slept so good in a dorm ever! On the down side it is a small bit away from the town centre...
