zebre has indicated that this thread is about South Korea

Well, my travel plans have changed again, mostly because I'm trying to cobble a trip together at the last minute... I'm flying from Bangkok to Denpasar this August with a 24-hour stopover in either Singapore or KL. My question: which would be more rewarding? I'm also on a fairly tight budget, so if one is less expensive than the other that would be great to know! And if KL, what are the "things you can't miss"?

thanks!
Ceci

I'm not going to say which city is more interesting, because that really depends on what you're after, but what I can say is that Singapore is probably the more accessible city of the two and by virtue of that would probably get my pick for a stopover visit.

Getting around is easy, accommodation is cheap (though maybe not when compared to KL) and, though it doesn't have a huge range of tourist drawcards, there certainly is enough to keep you entertained for 24 hours at least. And you'll probably leave feeling you've got a reasonable taste of what the city has to offer.

When it comes to price - KL will probably work out cheaper. And the food there is fantastic :) (not that it's bad in Singapore ..)

KL is definetly cheaper, as Singapore is probably the most expesive city in Southeast Asia. But in my opinion, Singapore is the more interesting of the two and i would rather spend 24 hours there.

Everything is closer to you and easier to get to in Singapore. As your not there for long, in my opinion, it would probably be easier to cram stuff to do in Singapore. I haven't actually been to KL, so my advice is mainly based upon what I have been told.

I would choose Singapore too. I liked both cities, but I think Singapore is a more appropriate stop-over destination. You can use their underground, the MRT, for getting around cheaply and easily so you should be able to see quite a bit in 24 hours. A city tour might be a good idea, so you can make sure you take in most of the main sights.

i feel that Singapore will be a greater choice. From Changi Airport to Singapore city is not as far as KLIA to KL city.
I am agree that Singapore is more expensive than Kuala Lumpur.
Getting around in Singapore is much easy because of the efficiency of the public transports.;)

I have been to KL so, I would suggest u visit Kuala Lumpur... Not just cheap accomodation, good food but nice people...
they also have great views :D You can see the one of the tallest bldg in the whole world in KL.

maybe singapore though. you can run around with MRT. I agree with #bex76 that you can do sightseeing for 24hours while KL is much more cheaper but you wouldnt have enough time to see more interesting place.

What most of them said.

Kuala Lumpur is doable if you have a local to take you around places.
