Hi,
I'll be spending a week in Italy, flying into Rome and exactly one week later, flying out of Palmero, Sicily. I'd like to know what the best way is to do this trip, taking into account staying for one night in Naples and visiting Pompeii. I'd like to know how much it will cost to travel by train or bus, and how long it will take.

Also, if anyone else has any other "must-see" destinations, please let me know.

Thanks,
Jon.

Since you're headed to Pompeii on your way to Palermo, I'd sugest a stop along the Amalfi coast, if you can. It's a gorgeous area and well worth a side trip - even if it's just to sit on the beach. Seeing the cities perched on the side of the mountains is just incredible.

probably you mean "palermo".
Anyway, check the italian railways website for prices and timetables to travel with train: www.trenitalia.it
