Hello

I was just wondering if any of you TP regulars use Facebook. I have noticed it seems to be rapidly growing and spreading, and I have found myself getting addicted recently, each time one of my "long lost" travel buddies or school friends or even distant cousins, replies to a friendship request.

At first i considered it to be just for young Uni students keeping in touch with old high school friends, but more and more people I know are on it. It has also been good for keeping up with people I met travelling.

What do you think? Are any of you members of other sites that work in the same social network way?

If you are a member, you'll find me there as Clara Yate from Sheffield...Do say hello.:)

Clara

Yup! I bit the bullet and plugged myself in to Facebook a few weeks back. It's been intereting finding old friends and seeing who knows who, although it gets a bit stagnant at times. There's even a TP group there for us groupies who can't get enough!

Hey Clara - we're now friends!

I joined Facebook because Hien sent an invitation and Tina was chatting about it a couple of weeks ago. So, being the somewhat anti-social but curious person that I am, I joined. Hien alerted Reuters.

I don't know if it's a generational thing or that the people I have known/met are just not the type(s) to join Facebook. The only people there that I know are also TPers. Maybe that will change over time, but for the moment, I'm not really understanding the big draw. (Maybe I am just that anti-social...)

Ha! I'm not alone then.

I was getting sporadic invites from people, and mostly just ignoring them. Then a girl from Wales that I met in NZ sent me an invite. I had long since lost her email address so I figured that I would accept and at least be able see what she has been up to. Well that worked, and now I'm secretly becoming addicted to the site. I can't say I have it all figured out, and let's be honest, my high school and college friends are not exactly Facebooks demographic. But in terms of tracking down random people I met traveling, it's been fantastic!

How do you join the TP group? I am currently without group which is kind of depressing. How do I find Hien? I can tag him in some of my photos! I'm up to like 15 friends now though and for an old codger, I'm thinking that's pretty good.
