Hey Marlis - actually I've been to Jamaica 12 times but have always stayed in an all-inclusives - mainly due to "free" drinks and "free" diving. But, my sister-in-law and her husband stayed in a nice and relatively inexpensive hotel about 10 minutes from the airport and just a block off of Doctor's Cave Beach. Also very close to the best jerk pork place in MoBay. I will check with them as to which hotel it was.

(Sorry I missed this thread earlier...)

My suggestion is the Gloucestershire Hotel ... it's on Gloucester Avenue, across the street from Doctor's Cave Beach, and a short walk to Margaritaville and other nightlife. It's also among the closest places to Sangster International Airport, about a kilo meter and a half tops. I stayed there once when we ended up being bumped from our return flight to the US. The room was comfortable and the room rate was moderate. (Click here for the details on Justlodgings.com.)

I haven't stayed overnight in Kingston, but you should be able to Google up what places are near the airport.

Nr.3 Montego Bay for 4 nights dont has to be right next to the beach, I'm looking for a small resort or Bed/Br./Hostel, close to shops/restaurants.

Again, I'd suggest the Gloucestershire Hotel. However, you could also consider the The Wexford Montego Bay. It's also on Gloucester Avenue and is in the same price range as the Gloucestershire.

Good luck.
