La Guardia Airport-Greewich Village?
How do I get from La Guardia Airport to Greenwich village by bus/subway? I've looked at the MTA website, but it doesn't have a trip planner. I'm also a little confused by the Subway map. I know I have to take a bus to Manhattan, but which one, and where does it stop? I also need to know what train to board if my final destination is near Washington Square Park (intersection of Blecker St, and Christopher St). That is one block west of 7th Ave. Thx
In the past I have taken the Q33 bus from La Guardia to the Jackson Heights/82nd st. subway stop in Queens and hop on the V train. The V line has a stop at W 4th st/Washington Sq. Given your destination I think this is probably the most direct route.
Agreed that probably makes the most sense. I'll just point out that the V is a weekday only train. If you are coming in on a weekend, you'll want to take the F train. You can get off at either 14th street or Washington Square, depending on where you are going.
You can catch the bus outside the terminal. Note that if you are flying the delta shuttle from Boston, Washington (Ronald Regan airport) or Chicago, you won't be able to catch the Q33 outside the terminal, as those flights arrive at the Marine Air Terminal, and the Q33 doesn't come there.
Buy a metrocard at a newstand in the airport. Metrocards are sold at the newstands, but not on the buses. Assuming you are going to be in NYC for a few days, you should probably buy a A $10 card, that actual gives you $12 of credit, so you get a free ride.
Everything you need to know you about getting to Manhattan from the airports of NYC can be found at this site: NYC Airports to Manhattan.
