I was wondering if anyone could help out with this. I've not done any research yet - this is just a thought I've been having recently so my questions may be a bit vague...I was wondering what the situation would be if I decided to move to Thailand to live there for a couple of years. I'm a freelance video editor so would still be editing videos for clients based in the UK (but I'd be working from Thailand). Just wondering what the visa situation would be, how much money I'd need in my bank account and how much I'd need to earn every week and also what the tax situation would be. Thanks in advance for any help!

Emma,
I really don't think this is going to work out for you. The Thais are very strict on work visas and you are limited on how long you can stay as a tourist. You will not get a work visa unless a Thai company hiires you and turns in the paperwork. You are too young for the retirement visa option and you cannot keep getting double entry visas for years on end without going home.

I am going to send you a PM that may have useful info as well.

Hello Emma:)

I met some retired people, when I was in Thailand. They get looser visa requirements, if they can prove, that they have 500 Euros at least, per month, comming in, from another country. Maybe this could also apply to u.
Zachary is living in Thailand, and doing something like what u want to do. U could private mail him, and ask him to post, on this thread.
