Travel Forums Asia From Singapore to Bangkok in 12 and a half days

Hi all,

I am arriving early in the morning of the 18th June to Singapore and then leaving from Bangkok on the 1st July.

I just wanted to get some ideas of where to go for these 12 days. Has anyone got any favourite places? I've been running around quite a bit so really only want to go to a few places. Was thinking somewhere by the beach in Malaysia for a bit. I've heard Georgetown is good, but know nothing about it. There is also some island on the east coast, but sounds very touristy. Can't remeber what it's called at the moment.

What about somewhere in Thailand?

I want to try and avoid flying as well if possible.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I will be back in SE asia for another couple of weeks in August, it's just I have to go back to Britain to work for a month, so was thinking of only having one day to do some shopping in Bangkok before I leave.

Thanks all.

If you are thinking of somewhere near Singapore, yet not having to fly, there are a few places you can go to.

Phuket ( dont know where the heck that is, Thailand/Indonesia? Heard that its a beautiful place blablabla Think you need to fly to Phuket)

Krabi ( My friend just got married, and she flew there for her honeymoon. Its somewhere in Thailand, its resort-like. )

Bintan ( you can get to that place via ferry from one of the piers in Singapore, lots of S'poreans go there for short relaxation over long weekends. )

Kuala Lumpur ( you can get there via a bus/train from singapore )

Johor Straits ( lots of Singaporeans go there as well, for really short breaks. you can go and get back within a day, but just be cautious of your belongings, try to dress shabbily as well )

Thats all that I know of.

Phuket is in Thailand!!!
Andaman Coast.
Phi Phi Island will be much nicer.
You can just go to Koh Phangan to join in the Full Moon party.

In Bangkok, you can go to Jatujak Weekend market if you are there during weekends. At night, you can go to Suan Lum Night Baazar or Patpong.
Or if you want to shop with more comfortable, you can go to Siam Center. Many malls around there.
MBK as well.

For Malaysian East Coast,
Perhentian and Redang Islands are awesome!!!
Great and clean water!!!
Great spot for snorkeling.;)
