Hi, I'm travelling SA from aug till mid december. were travelling quite a distance in this short time, venezuela, brazil, argentina, chile, boliva, peru and finishing in Equador. Were doing the trip through Gap adventures, we've only got 2 internal flights the rest is all by bus. Although i'm sure the busses will provide some fantstic scenery i'm a little worried that all were going to do is be on a bus. Has anyone taken a trip with gap adventures, and if so what did you think? thanks
I haven't, but I've taken loads of busses through SA, and it's smt I really recommend. Scenery is fantastic, distances / times travelled are acceptable, and busses provide high comfort. Don't worry, you'll have a splendid time.
I looked at some GAP adventures but chose not to go on them in the end. Not because of bad press or anything, just because I reckoned I could do it a lot cheaper myself and take more time in certain places.
Everything I read about GAP pointed to them being very good and professional. You have to remember you are going to a vast continent and regardless of who you go with at some point you are going to have to travel a long way on a bus. I am quite sure you will be A ok. The bottom line is everything is now organised for you so you won't have to waste time booking buses etc.
Hope you enjoy it all.
