Hey guys,

Id like to kayaking somewhere in Europe (im from england). Id like to go somewhere like Norway where there is some amazing scenery but thats too expensive. My problems are that firstly im a beginner so would need an easy trip, secondly i don't have much money so it would need to be cheap (im looking for a multiday course) and lastly some kind of group thing as id be going it alone.

Im just really asking for advice and suggestions.

Any comments are greatly appreciated. Thanks all.

Hi Walk . . .

Excellent whitewater rafting in Scotland - obviously the cheaper option too!

PM me if you want some more advice.

If it is just paddling with a canoe, take a look at the Spreewald and the Mecklenburger Seenplatte, south and west of Berlin or at Masuren in Poland. (Can't really help you with the white-water thingie, not my style.)

I saw an advert for white-water rafting in Turkey between Antalya and Izmir though. And I'm also quite sure that there is some in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and the Balkan countries. Switzerland would be great too, but probably out of your budget.

Hi Walk,
Just following up on T-maia's suggestion about the Balkans. I know two places there which are great for kayaking and rafting.
One is Bihac in the NE of Bosnia, along the Una river. The other is -app. 400 km SE of Bihac - in northern Montenegro. North of Zabljak lies the Tara canyon and river, a great place too. In both areas there are several campsites available. So if you're on a tight budget, you'd be well off there. Have fun, whereever you go.

Try gorges du Tarn, central-southern France. Biggest city is Millau and it is a great starting point. Kayaking is very very verye xtended in that region, and almost any of the little towns you'll pass offer it.
