Hey, 2 people travelling throughout Britain, France, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, and possibly Spain and Portugal. Will it be much cheaper going at the end of August as opposed to going in July? We're staying in hostels and buying groceries. We don't mind heat or crowds, just want to save money to enjoy our trip. Thanks!

Yes, it will definitely be cheaper. But it's difficult to say by how much.

August is still considered high season in Spain, I'm not sure it would really make any difference, not for Spain in particular at least. but perhaps september...

August is high seaon everywhere. Watch for festivals like in Edinburgh especially, where hostels are always booked.

Shoulder season is more like september/october.

Hello Kneale:)

No, it wont be cheaper at all(I mean for food and accomodation), at the end of August. However, I think end of August is a better time to travel, than July. July is the most crowded time in Europe, and accomodation is often difficult/impossible to find.
