Hi

I will be in LA area on business and would like to visit LV soon ...any recommendations regarding which hotel to stay... Circus Circus or Stratosphere...isn't safe for a single woman to visit LV and is three days sufficient to do sight seeing in LV

thank you

Well both Stratosphere and Circus Circus are in Old Las Vegas I believe which is an okay area but not the greatest. New Las Vegas is where all the "hot" stuff goes on these days but it would be easy to bus there. It's one quick bus I think (trying to remember).

So you can do that if you want or look at the hotels in the newer area which are cheaper during the week.

Hope that helps somewhat. Good luck.

Robin,
A couple from England came to Vegas last month and stayed at Circus Circus at my recommendation. A decent room at a decent price. There will no problem with a single lady visitiing Vegas. Walk out the front door of Circus Circus and take the bus to all you will want to see. Get the $5 all day bus pass and your transport problems are solved. The 'Duece' is a double decker bus that runs up and down the Strip 24/7. The top section has nice sightlines for viewing or photos.

I have many Vegas photos in my gallery that may help with your trip. Send me a PM if you have questions.

Hi Robin,
We stayed in the RV park at the Circus Circus hotel and found it a good spot. It's at the end of the strip, but a good place to start a walk from. The bus is there if you need it, but I wouldn't say it was essential. Usual precautions for a single woman. Just be sensible and stick with the crowds.
Three days might not be enough, especially if you like shopping!

i stayed at the imperial palace hotel which is dead center of the strip.
only a 3* hotel but would be cheap this time of year as opposed to new years eve which is when i went. close to all the other hotels too.
i dont think 3 days is enough myself.

Hi Robin stayed in the Circus Circus in May found it every thing you wanted as we only spent about 8 hours a day in the room sleeping!!! think it was $63 double room which went up to $130 weekend!!!!!! never found Vegas threatening at all even on the odd night walking down the strip at 2am,the Duece is fine and good value for going up and down the strip, but can take up to an hour to do the trip when the strip his busy which is most of the time, and i agree with stevieh don't think the bus is essential by the way we are the couple that Vegas Mike spoke about, good guy for tips on Vegas, got a dodgey back though!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed at New York New York and found it pretty good and we got a good deal there as well. It is pretty close to most things so we just walked everywhere and that was pretty cool. We were 3 girls and didnt have any problems at all. We spent 3 days there and I dont think it was nearly enough. Have fun!

Hello,
I just wanted to address the whole "is three days enough time" thing with a resounding YES! I like Las Vegas; I think it's fun, but in my experience by the third day you'll be begging to be in a quiet room with a towel over your face eating nothing but plain wheat crackers.

I would recommend Imperial Palace over Circus Circus. IP is the perfect location, especially for a single girl. Circus Circus is way at the end of the strip and not really within walking distance to things. I'm a 23 yr old woman, and I feel much safer at IP. They are comparable in rates with IP usually being a bit cheaper. I believe they avg. $47 a nite weeknights.
