Hi

I will be in Bangkok by 12Nov and havent decided what/where to travel in Thailand. Last year I visited Phuket so I am looking at other destination. I will travel to India to visit family and then travel to Goa for a week not sure the dates for the Goa trip as yet. Its a beautiful place and beaches, was there last year too. Hope this time will be even more fun. Mumbai will be my base so if you happen to be around these times I would love to hear from you and we can catch up fora drink or two.

cheers

As for thailand u can visit Pattaya and u can cultutal and traditional attratctions of Bangkok, like the floating market, traditional dance show along with traditional food.

Since u have ur family in india, sounds that u r of indian origin. U must be aware of the places to visit in india. If u do need more info, let me know

Cheers

Hello Smoothie:)

I went to Khao Sok, on my most recent trip to Thailand. I think it is well worth a visit. It is right in the middle of the rain forest. I stayed in a place called Garden Huts. They have 3 wooden huts surrounded by lychee and durian trees, with double beds, bathrooms, and a balcony, for rent. It is owned by a friendly family. The guy who worked there would often disappear into the trees and come back with handfuls of tropical fruit, for us.
Last November I went to Khao Pha Ngan. That is a beautiful island.
Kanchanaburi is a good place, for those interested in WW2 history.

Mel , seems u know every bit of Thailand:)

Even penetrated deep into the rain forest area. It must have been really a nice experience in the forests with fresh fruits for the breakfast. Well how much it cost per night

Maybe i can try it next time

Smoothie,
Since you are interested in night life and meeting other travellers, why not just hang around few days in bangkok and then head south to koh phangan.
At the Full Moon Party,i am sure you will be meeting lots of other travellers from all over the world. or in Bkk itself, you will meet lots of travellers at Khaosan Rd.;)
