mikeandave has indicated that this thread is about Thailand

Hi guys

Were going travelling in a few months starting with south east asia. I was hoping to get some reading done on some places before we go. Can anyone recommend any literature on Thai culture? I'll go with fiction or non-fiction.

Would be really grateful with any help
Thanks

Hi Mike & Dave

If this is your first trip to the land of smiles then a must read for all ex-pat males is "Private Dancer" by Stephen Leather (as the reviews say it should be handed out at the airport) Pure fiction but everyone I know who's read it knows someone who's been in a similar situation.

Good read

Thanks for the recommendation draggons. The book certainly looks really interesting!

Are you into climbing in Thailand? I love climbing too. Would you mind if I asked some further advice about this?

Thanks again

I go down to Krabi climbing, use to do a lot of snow & ice, but the old bones prefer hot rock nowadays. Krabi's got to be one of the best places in the world. the north has some good climbing to. Everything you need can be hired but if you bring your own gear all you need is harness, shoes, quickdraws, chalk & a 70m rope.

Google Krabi climbing.

read about the Kings of Thailand.
The current King is one of the greatest overall Humanitarians in the world. IMHO.
