what u guys think of the Kiyomizu Temple, Kyoto, Japan

I have never been to Japan, what is so special about this temple?

I haven't been there as well, and I haven't looked anything up yet, so forgive me when I am saying something stupid right now:
It is probably just like any other temple...seen one, seen them all. Probably some sort of special sort of meaning of the temple, but the visitor won't notice anything of that of course.

I haven't been there as well, and I haven't looked anything up yet, so forgive me when I am saying something stupid right now:

Feel like can see it all over Japan.

I too think that architecturally it may be like any other temple, but maybe it has some special significance to the Japnese Culture which makes it all the more special enabling it to enter the top 21 finalists.

From what i remember, that temple is built on a waterfall and is absolutely gorgeous.

i´m protesting that newgrange in ireland wasn`t shortlisted, its older then the pyramids !!

The Terracotta Army in China is pretty wondrous, though not a structure like most of the rest.

Newgrange in Ireland is certainly one of the oldest UNESCO heritage sites. though i have not visited the site but i have heard that it is some kind of passage-tomb. Can u throw more light on this structure even older than the Pyramids.
