Hello Lankypidge:)

I think Thailand is a good choice.
As a woman, I find it the easiest country to travel in, of all the countries I have been to so far. I certainly recommend it, for any woman, travelling for the first time.
And it is sunny, exotic and inexpensive.

hi Laura,

Welcome to the TP community.

True that thailand and singapore are relatively inexpensive and much easier to travel.

If u r looking for a travel partner u can start a new thread in the Travel companion forum. You will get appropriate responses from like minded people.

Wish u all the best

If you cannot find a travel companion when putting your Thailand trip together, do not let that deter you. Once you get to the Khao San Road section of BKK, you will certainly meet others that are doing the same thing; seeing the sights and hitting the beaches of Thailand. I guarantee you will find other Brit ladies either at your guesthouse or at a restaurant. Carry your guide to Thailand, a journal and listen for the Bristish accent. Every GH, restaurant and travel shop will have some fellow Brits bumping around. Just be open to meeting others and a flexible itinerary and you will have travel companions in your first few days of being in BKK. Have a great trip.

Dont worry, as what vegasmike said, when you get to Thailand,in Khaosan Rd,i am sure you can find fellow travellers who are going to travel along with you.

Laura I think you are right ,travelling alone is a little pity .I like making fridens and travelling with them. Then the tour is full of happiness while you can take care of each other.
Going with friends is a good idea. You`d better plan it well.
