Hello everyone !

U r visiting this page, cool, so u have get hooked on travelling too :)
So am I !

Me & my bf are planning to head off to the wide world, to experience something, we would remembre 4 d rest of our lives :) So we decided to get our bags packed and head off somewhen in the beginning of september. Our first destination is Greece, as we both like this country and we think it might be the good choice to get started.
I was just wondering, could anybody give us some good advice about staying in Greece as a backpacker. Any good contacts to get a short-time job there or to find people, who could help us about it ? We would like to earn some money there, to continue our tour after a couple of months.
Both of us do speak estonian :), english & finnish, and in addition to that my bf speaks russian and I do speak german. shouldn`t be too bad ? ! Any good ideas guys ? We know, it takes some courage and lots of luck, but we r ready 4 that !

Anything u can tell us about living in Greece as a backpacker and getting on , is very welcome !

Hope to hear from u soon ! And thks a million !

Ciao, Maix

Hi Maix,

Sounds like a good project you've decided to do... I can't really help you with what to do living that way as a backpacker. Hope someone else will be able to give you some good advice.

I spent 3 weeks in Greece 3 years ago, travelling the small Cyclades, only holiday no work at all LOL Travelling is very easy, as you might now. Think even in September it might be possible to get work as waiter, bartender on the bigger islands, definitely not on the smaller islands, everything there is mainly family run.

Hope you'll go on with this and have a wonderful time, let us all know how it works out.

On the topic of Greece, my husband and I are headed there in October 2003 to find out if we want to move there forever! We are seriously looking at Korfu, Epirus, or Central Greece. We want to eventually buy a house and settle there. I have lived in Athens (Pireaus 2 months 1968) and Rhodes (Lindos 3 months 1973) and speak the language.

I am looking for lush, green, cool, sparsly populated areas where we can live on the cheap. Anybody got any hints as to a good area to investigate. (We want to stay on the Western costal area. Not an island. Doesn't have to be coastal.)

I have also lived in Spain (Nerja, 6 months, 1972) if anyone wants to know what it used to be like!

Hello all

It's difficult to find a temporary job in Greece especially if you are a foreigner.
And if you find a job the money isn't good.
Except from all this Greece is a marvelous place for living
If anyone needs any help about specific things in Greece just email me at (deleted) or post a message here.

PS:Ofcourse i am Greek
