Loisp has indicated that this thread is about Italy

I will be visiting Italy in November and really want to see the Sistine Chapel. Do I have to visit the Vatican Museums also? Can I just see the chapel? Thanks.

The thing is, the Sistine Chapel is part of the Vatican museum. To the best of my knowledge, there is no separate ticket only for the Sistine Chapel. Hope this helps.

Pranav is right - but if you only want to see the Sistine Chapel, I recommend going to the Vatican museum about 1 hour before closing. You can rush through the other sights (shame though) and get into the chapel without the wait usually necessary for tickets to the Vatican museum. I did that about one month ago - it was totally unplanned for me, I came upon the entrance by chance and saw the museum open without a long queue. Got my ticket 30 seconds before the ticket office closed and spent one of the best hours of my life.

Hi, I have just travelled Italy and Greece. I agree go to the Vatican / sistene chapel (all in the same museam) in the afternoon. It closes at 3.30 so get there for two. I got there at 9 am and the cues were 4 hours long and trust me in the heat this feels like days. (DO NOT PAY ON THE LINE FOR CUE JUMP TICKETS THEY ARE EXPENSIVE AND ONLY SAVE 2O MINS)

In the end I went to mass at St Peters at 10 am, then to the castle across from st Peters (amazing views), had lunch then headed to the Vatican in the afternoon. If you get time visit St Peters after, its free and dosn't close until 7.00 pm.

Hope you have a wicked time, dont be put off by the cues it was just a brilliant day.
