Can anyone recommend a decent guidebook to Sikkim and Darjeeling? I have not been satisfied by either LP's 'Trekking in the Indian Himalaya' (but it was too brief and I don't plan to trek that much in Sikkim) and also Footprint's "Indian Himalaya" (but it appears not to be updated recently). I like Sikkim: A Traveller's Guide but it's lacking on sufficient practical detail.

Can anyone help?

Maybe have a look at the books Lonely Planet has to offer, there appears to be a Indian Himalaya trekking guide as well. Otherwise Sikkim and Darjeeling are in the India guidebook with good details on transport, accommodation and what to see and do.

I was happy with the Sikkim and West Bengal sections in the LP guide to India.

OK, thanks.

Seems there a very limited number of good guidebooks dedicated to Sikkim and Darjeeling.

I guess I'll probably go to my local library and photocopy the relevant bits out of the books. Hardly worth paying for a guidebook, especially the LP guides.
