I hv never been to Mongolia before but i will in the future.
If he is travelling with his mongolian gf,i think he should not face any problem. I cant help much but maybe with this website, you can help your brother with it.
well,hope it helps.
I've been to Mongolia just this March and it was absolutely fascinating although I had only spent 6 days there enroute from my Trans-Mongolian journey from Beijing to Moscow.
There is nothing much in the capital Ulanbataar (UB) but its got its charms...you cant seem to identify to any other place.
It was really snowy and cold when I was there but always sunny blue skies. I've been told that a trip to the Gobi desert is a must however, I've not been there myself.
I've been to Terelj National Park which is about 1.5 hours away from UB but the scenery was breathtaking! Outside UB, it can be very rugged and spartan (think no toilets, no electricity, etc).
I'd be back to Mongolia in the near future for sure!
I would like to suggest you to go on www.otamecotours.com to find out what wil suites to your brother.
I have traveled with this company last years. Very good offer and cheap and you will definetly have some fun.
They idea is to hop on and off anywhere you want and you can picked up by few days later or following bus.
They main desination is to Khuvsgul lake and Gobi destination and its cost only 230$+20$tax.[b]
Good Luck :-)
