Ok I am starting to get pretty nervous now, only 60 days until I embark on my around the world expedition. Still have 178 days of accommodation left to organise, 13 flights, 5 ferries, 18 trains, and enough red tape to sort out you could tape up the moon, but slowly I'm getting there.
How do other people stay calm on the build up to a big trip, its been a few years since I have been on any serious travel.
Hey Alex! I was just thinking about you earlier today - wondering if you were already filming in exotic places.
Stay calm? Massive martinis!! (Okay, that's my answer to everything...)
As Jimmy Buffett says: "Breathe in, breath out, move on."
(Yup - I'm a parrothead too. And, no wisecracks from the peanut gallery!)
Not quite yet. We leave on the 3rd October to start our travels and filming if we can sort out all the red tape, so many countries it seems have a problem with us bringing in all our cameras and stuff. lots of paperwork.
Can you provide me some more information, because Isa is talking about something I don't know...any link to another thread maybe? Where are you going exactly?
And why do you need to sort things out precisely? Are you with a crew or something?
Tell me all about it
and take some nice photos too!!
especially the streets, buildings and sceneries
Sounds amazing - what are you filiming?
Does ur RTW trip includes India and South East Asia? Hope u have allotted enough time for this region. U can get enough filming opportunities here.
Anyway all the best for ur trip
Relaxation comes in 12, 16, 24, 40 oz servings . I suppose it could come in differnt sizes as well, but there are standards. However it should that be noted that relaxation could never truely come without the presence of a good woman.
Good luck on your travels!!
So where is the map of your trip, you slack bastard?
Hey everyone. You can find a lot more about our trip at www.randomworldproductions.co.uk
I will try to answer everyones questions.
We aren't going to India but are going to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, China (incl. Hong Kong) Japan and Mongolia in Eastern Asia.
We are filming our trip to make a documentary intended to promote adventure tourism around the globe and to demonstrate the beatiful scenery etc. you can find when you go out of the big cities and leave the tourist trail. Our motto 'There is an Adventure Waiting for you.'
The documentary will be 'Michael Palin' Esque.
We have a map on our website but I think it is broken at the moment.
We are attempting to film everything with just the two of us! Scary!!! I am going to miss my sound technition, and my camera assistants. Means although I am the presenter/producer/director I have to do lots of the manual work too. Sorting out mics, doing sound checks, running cables etc.
And Isadora, you suggestion for large Martinis is a very good one. Will be taking your advice VERY seriously!.
