Flying from New Zealand to South America??

Travel Forums Australia / New Zealand & The Pacific Flying from New Zealand to South America??

AS part of our world trip we were planning on gettin a 4 stop trip that would end in New Zealand at the end of the 12 months, this would allow us spend a few months there before going on to South America. However we would need to buy a seperate ticket to get us from New Zealand to South America, has anyone ever done this and if so how does it work out cost wise, and would it be viable to enter South America without already having a flight booked to get back to Dublin.

Any help greatly appreciated.

I've done this trip a couple of times; Sydney - Auckland - Buenos Aries but it was a few years ago.

I believe that prices have come down considerably. I flew with Aerolineas Argentinas but there may be another airline that does that route (or similar) now.

I'm not sure about costs, but I have heard that flights between Auckland and Santiago get very busy so I would book this asap if this is the route you are planning.
