Ok, every now and then I bore you guys and girls with some weather things.
So now the next chapter: 52,8 degrees Celcius in the Death Valley (now I know why they call it that), the hottest temperature so far this year in the world, just a bit warmer than in Pakistan earlier this year. And only 4 degrees from the world record!

Anyone driving a convertible through the valley over there....;)

I think its really selfish to be honest - our weather here has been dire and reports say its likely to continue - the amount of rain has been unbelievable no sunshine - and if we get a measley 16 c thats a warm day.

This is July - supposedly summer - its crap totally crap - everyone is miserable, with the weather really affecting peoples moods!

OK thats my weather rant over!

16c for summer.
thats almost the same as in Genting Higlands. Quite cold for me.
Its about 40++c in KL. And i feel i am in the microwave.
Cant imagine if its 52.8c.

52.8 degrees celcius is hot but lots of places get that and more,The news/weather on TV take the readings from airports and other places in towns/city and not a bit further out in other places where its a lot warmer, when I was in Hastings our temps were say 32degrees on TV, but an hours drive out where we were working hit high 40s.

40+ in KL? Almost impossible, I doubt it that it has been much more ever. But this is where people are mistaken by real temperatures instead of temperatures in the sun. Same to Kruzinkiwi statement that lots of places get 53 measured in the shadow....not true at all. Record for Australia is 50,7 for example and just a few countries in the world have had temperatures of more than 52/53 degrees, like Pakistan, Israel (desert below sealevel, like Deat valley), Iran and a few others.
I've added a link a while ago in the off topic, must be somewhere on the first or second page, with all records for the world. Otherwise, try it on google. you might be surprised about the actual temperatures sometimes, but 53 is not recorded that often.

Sorry, not ment to be a smartass here people, just adding some facts....not meaning that it can't feel like 60 degrees when running for several hours in the sun....;)

LOL, ok, of course, don't know exactly what the difference in temperature is but should be at least 5-8 degrees.

By the way, last Friday 53.9 degrees Celcius in Death Valley....that's probably over 60 in the sun

36 C here yesterday....not bad until you figure in 65% humidity. I've been in cooler steam rooms.....
