Obviously, after choosing the new 7 world wonders, we have to choose the new 7 sins as well. So, I'll start:

1. Not to travel!

In no particular order....

- eating McDonalds whilst on your travels
- losing money to the scammer on the "find the pea under the bottle lid at the makeshift table on a back street of Paris" game
- buying a Toblerone in Switzerland (tip: you can buy one from any corner store in your home town)
- believing that your new 10 Euro Tag Heuer watch was a bargain
- believing that using earplugs in a hostel is only for wimps
- telling an Englishman, "Hi, I'm from Australia and your beer tastes like warm horses piss" (tip: don't knock something that you will drink copious amounts of in the near future)
- throwing up McDonalds whilst on your travels.

Believing that when in Russia you can drink vodka like the locals do - straight with a mixer on the side - even though when you are at home you never touch vodka!

Quoting Purdy

Believing that when in Russia you can drink vodka like the locals do - straight with a mixer on the side - even though when you are at home you never touch vodka!

This is not a sin! It's really just one person's inexperience and lack of reading the label on the back of the bottle. In big bold print it says: "Never start a land war in Asia and never try to drink vodka with the Russians." It's taken me years of practice to keep up with them.

------------

Two sins:

1) Mixing anything with your liqour.
2) Thinking you're suppose to lick the salt on your hand when drinking tequila.
(It's suppose to be thrown over your shoulder for good luck - that luck being you don't hit your head on a table or chair when you fall down from drinking too much.)

not sharing your life with someone else

but I must agree, starting a land war with Asia and drinking vodka with the Russians both sound like bad ideas. However, drinking plenty of beer can get you no where but to total awesomeness™. at least thats what someone told me once....
