Well, the US House of Representatives have voted for a withdrawal of troops by April 2008, yet Bush is standing firm, suggesting that this is merely a reaction to opinion polls.

What should be done?

What should have been done?

Well maybe if they got a life and then enjoyed it there would be no war?

What should be done is just leave that country, leave Afghanistan and other countries. Same applies to international peace troops. These ignorant country are no danger to other countries at all, so why bother in the first place.
If it is just meant to try and create a stable country, leave it to the people over there, maybe there will be civil war, so what? After a while, the stronger survive and the weaker die, just as cruel as in the animal world, but surely much more logical.
Unless it is all about oil of course.....

I am getting bored as well by this so called news: dutch militair died in afghanistan, bomb attack kills 37 in Baghdad. Zap zap zap.
Just ignore people who don't want to live and get on with being yourself. Poverty = being religious = potentially dangerous.

Having overthrown the Taleban and Saddam Hussein, can we just leave? Surely coalition forces are, at the VERY least, partially to blame for the anarchy that is now descending.

It's interesting that you call it "news" - I am sure that to those living in such regions it is substantially more.

Well, it is in the news here, which make the 'news' a bit boring. But ok, that is only what we see of course.
But how long should be stay then...this won't end as there are lots of people still in favour of Taliban or Saddam and this will continue and continue. Just change strategy for a while and see how things will go. Patience is such a magnificent thing!

Just do something different, without having to defend yourself why. I am not going into morally sustained strategy discussions here, because basically I couldn't care less

Because he is not fighting for his life there. And his his kids doesn't serve in army. Fahrenheit 9/11 is the best to understand what he is thinking.
