I'm leaving for about a month and I would like avoid to bring with me my laptop to download pictures from my camera.
Someone talked me about "photo disk" and "ipod photo", and I think this is what I'm looking for, my need now is to choose within hundreds of products and ask here to somebody with some experience using this devices..
My need is about 30-40GB of memory and my Camera is Coolpix 8700 (so Compact Flash Type I/II)
has anyone any advice about it?
ps: I would like avoid a (not chep) Ipod Photo

You can get a flash drive such as the one found here: http://www.amazon.com/MediaGear-Flash-Portable-Drive-Memory/dp/B0002QX9M8
i travel with a 30gb ipod and a 1gb memory card. that way i can use my ipod as a portable hard drive for all my pics. they now have an 80 gb ipod which is what i would get today if i were buying a new one. and i would probably upgrade to a 4gb memory card as well. this way you can listen to music while you're away and store all the pictures you need! it is very easy to transfer your pictures from a digital camera to the ipod, although you will need a converter between the camera's usb port to the bottom of the ipod. you can get the international ipod charger pack, so battery space isn't an issue. good luck and happy travels.
